Fall Festivities...

Fall is my favorite time of year! As I mentioned in my last post, the pumpkins, changing leaves, all the cooking/baking and more! Another part of fall that I love is the local fall festivities, fall festivals, pumpkin patch/festivals ect...

There are so many events in our area & many different places to choose from, there is something to see and do every weekend! If you love fall as much as I do, your house is probably already decorated, pumpkins and fall mums on your porch! 

As I mentioned before, we have had a little excitement in our little area of Pa, The Farm Kings owners of Freedom Farms, has their own docu-reality show that just premiered September 27th! They are a local farm with a big emphasis on going local and supporting your local farms! Who doesn't love fresh local grown fruit & veggies? 

Anyways, they are having their first annual Fall Festival next weekend! Looks like they have lots of activities planned...

October 1st = Birthday Celebrations!

The first of October is usually a perfect day to celebrate fall and did I mention... my birthday! A perfect sunny day for the start of this lovely month of fall! Pumpkins, changing leaves and lots of fall cooking/baking. One meal that really makes me think of fall is Chilli. So with my awesome new Dutch Oven my awesome hubby got me for my birthday, the Chilli was simmering and the house smelled yummy! 

Lately after reading The Pioneer Woman Cooks & Dinner A Love Story, my favorite new cookbooks & food blogs, I have been wanting a dutch oven! 

So I was pretty excited about this awesome gift!

Glade is a brand that has been around for a while, as always a great product with so many scents to choose from. As a BzzAgent member I have been able to try this product for free! The Pineapple Mangosteen scent is perfect for the end of summer! A little fruity smell is perfect for me! The oil diffuser is my choice of the two! So easy to click in place and your done, lots of great fruity scent! 

 The fragrance mist is great too! Perfect for a great scent when you need it. 

After I received my coupons I decided to pick up a few more so I was able to get the refills with the latest coupons from the local newspaper.

Do you have a least favorite household chore? I do... all of them cleaning the bathroom/toilets. The worst is when you flip the spray over and it doesn't work because it's upside down. Well guess what new product I recently tried that works upside down?? Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl cleaner! That is my favorite part of this new product! It works great and has a foaming spray but the fact that it works upside down is by far the best feature yet! 

 As a Purex Insider I was chosen to review the new household cleaner Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl and the Soft Scrub Total All Purpose with Bleach. I try to be honest in my reviews & I will say that I didn't realize this would actually bleach, I knew it contained bleach but some products do and they won't bleach your towel/sponge. It bleached my sponge and had a strong bleach scent. That being my only complaint though! Again loving that it sprays upside down!

IHeart Mason Jars

Just had to share my exciting find today! 

 Lately Pinterest has been filled with Mason jar ideas! From lanterns, lights and misc. decorations! So many ideas! 

 I have a few blue Mason jars & was on the hunt for more! Pioneer Woman also has been loving Mason jars lately! They work great and look great for everything! 

Well check out this beauty I found today....

Now the question is, what should I do with all of them? I am starting quite a collection! I have a few on my china cabinet as you can see, and a few on my kitchen cupboards. I use small ones for spices ect...

Have you done any canning this year? Have you ever canned before? I had my first real canning experience, as an adult, last year. 

 Growing up my parents canned every summer, I remember some of it but basically I am clueless. So with our garden producing more than ever this year, we have more veggies to put away!

A few veggies we picked this past week. 

I figured now is the time to learn. 

I picked up a packet of Bread & Butter fridge pickle mix to start! So I could just mix it up & keep some in the fridge, they keep up to 3 months according to the instructions! Using our own cucumbers & onions! 

 Quick and easy, and we loved the results! 

If you don't have the opportunity to grow your own veggies, another great way to enjoy the fresh veggies is through your local farmers markets. 

Fresh local produce is the way to go if you ask me, helping keep our local farmers in business & helping your family eat healthier at the same time! 

If you are from Western Pa. and you would like to find a local farm/farmers market, you can check out Freedom Farms in Butler Pa. and their newly opened The Market at New Ken. The farm is owned by the King Family of Butler & you can even see the King Family on GAC starting this September! A little fame for a small town farm!  The brothers were recently featured in a local magazine, Edible Allegheny all about local food, farms & cuisine.
